Client Services Associate

About Us
Willow Creek Capital Management is a small, close-knit, female-founded, and owned asset management firm in Missoula, Montana, dedicated to helping our clients build and preserve wealth. Because we're a lean team of seven, everyone here has a seat at the table - there's no getting lost in a large organization or being boxed into a narrow lane. Instead, our team members get exposure to nearly every part of the business, from client relationships to portfolio management to daily operations, and that breadth is exactly how our best people grow their professional experience and become better equipped to help clients.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Client Services Associate to join our team, but we want to be upfront: we're not looking for someone who wants a job. We're looking for someone who wants a career.
This is a true entry-level position, and we don't expect you to walk in the door knowing the markets inside and out. What we do expect is genuine curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to dive in and learn. In return, you'll get something rare for an entry-level role: real access. Because our team is small and operates all-hands-on-deck, you won't be siloed into one narrow task. You'll learn multiple verticals of the business, build your knowledge of the markets and portfolio management, and develop the relationship-building skills that are core to this industry. For the right person, this is a genuine launchpad with substantial room for growth in both responsibility and earnings as you prove yourself.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, requests, and account service needs, ensuring a responsive and polished client experience
- Support client onboarding, account maintenance, and documentation, working closely with custodians and internal systems.
- Assist the investment team with day-to-day portfolio administration, trade support, and performance reporting
- Help prepare materials for client meetings, including reports, presentations, and account reviews
- Learn and support various operational functions across the firm as needs arise — compliance tasks, marketing support, scheduling, and more
- Build genuine familiarity with the markets, investment strategies, and portfolio construction by working alongside experienced advisors and portfolio managers
- Contribute to process improvements as you learn where the business can run more efficiently
- Take on increasing responsibility over time as you demonstrate reliability, judgment, and initiative
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required
- Prior internship or professional experience in financial services, wealth management, or a related field preferred
- A genuine interest in financial markets and a desire to build a long-term career in the industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, client-first demeanor
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once
- A proactive, "no task is too small" attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever the team needs help
- Trustworthy with sensitive client and financial information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular); familiarity with portfolio management or CRM software is a plus but not required
Why Join Us
- Real mentorship. With a team of five, you'll work directly alongside experienced professionals, not buried under layers of management.
- Breadth of exposure. You'll touch client service, operations, and portfolio management, giving you a well-rounded foundation few entry-level roles offer.
- A genuine growth path. This role is designed as a launching point. Dedicated team members have a clear runway toward greater responsibility, client relationships of their own, and meaningfully higher earnings over time.
- A firm that invests in you. We're committed to supporting continued learning, whether that's on-the-job mentorship or support for relevant industry licensing and designations as you grow.
