POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a Senior BI Engineer, you will build and scale data models, pipelines, and self-service analytics across the organization, as well as high-load database solutions for various business use cases, including reporting, product analytics, marketing optimization, and financial reporting.
You will focus on developing a reliable aggregation layer and reporting framework that meets growing business needs, enabling teams to independently access and analyze data. You will contribute as part of a self-organized team of experienced data engineers, working in a challenging and innovative environment for our client, creating the foundation for decision-making in a company that handles billions of events per day.
You will investigate, design, and implement solutions to existing technical challenges. You will provide guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to a development team in order to achieve project goals.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze the scope of alternative solutions and make implementation decisions within your domain based on experience and technical knowledge.
- Lead the functional and architectural design of assigned areas. Ensure that project design decisions meet architectural and design requirements.
- Identify area-level risks and define and implement mitigation plans.
- Report on area readiness/quality and escalate issues in crisis situations beyond your area of responsibility.
- Take ownership of resolving crisis situations within your area of responsibility.
- Conduct design consultations and reviews to ensure business needs are met.
- Identify and execute risk mitigation and compliance activities.
- Use Business Intelligence tools to build and support dashboards.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to support business processes and system solutions.
- Manage and resolve customer escalations and systemic improvements.
- Work with Business Analysts to deliver new scalable solutions for business functions.
- Lead validation efforts to ensure data quality.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data models to support analytical and product data needs across the organization.
- Define business KPIs, measurement plans, data requirements, and reporting structures.
- Design, develop, and implement large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments.
- Initiate and lead code reviews; establish coding standards, conventions, and guidelines.
- Propose technical and functional improvements to add product value.
- Continuously seek professional development.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Mandatory:
- Over 8 years of total experience, including 4–5 years in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or similar roles.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Proficiency in BI tools: Deep knowledge of ThoughtSpot; experience with Tableau/Power BI is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot is essential.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, 3NF, Data Vault), data warehousing (ETL/ELT), and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Experience with modern data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, proactive, and self-organized environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their data requirements.
