Customer Service Representative

Position Overview

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for addressing the needs of customers on the telephone, via e-mail, from our websites, through mail and faxes. The CSR will respond to general inquiries, take/process orders, resolve product and service complaints, answer questions regarding services or products, and will occasionally complete billing/invoicing when required.

The CSR will develop a thorough working knowledge of all software systems required to process orders and follow them through to shipment. The CSR will become familiar with the Company’s total portfolio of products through product training and will help troubleshoot, describe proper usage, and promote Speedball’s art supplies. Every customer contact or inquiry requires you to respond in a timely, tactful, and professional manner always, while assisting and resolving customer questions or concerns.

Requirements

• Provide consistent and excellent customer service by maintaining the highest degree of courtesy, professionalism, and superior etiquette.
• Excellent reading and listening skills, and the ability to articulate options for resolving a customer’s concern or questions.
• Extremely thorough data-entry skills.
• Knowledge of all the Company’s products, services, and policies.
• Multi-tasking and great time management to thoroughly follow up with phone calls and emails within a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Must be a self-starter with ambition to perform daily tasks correctly, and in a timely manner.
• Ability to productively work independently, or within a group.
• Support the Company’s internal teams, when necessary, by distributing literature, promoting products, and reporting quality concerns.
• Build good rapport with customers, sales reps, and colleagues.

Skills & Qualifications

• Professional interpersonal skills and good communication (verbal and written)
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Great work ethic: positive attitude, patient, self-starter, and a team player.
• Tech savvy; experience with Windows/ Microsoft software.
• High School Education required. College classes, Technical or Trade classes, Certifications or College Degree are an added plus.
• Interest, experience or knowledge of Art, Design, or Crafts are a plus.
• Some level of qualified business experience or actual experience in a customer service environment. Any clerical, accounting or marketing experience is an absolute plus.
