About the Role
Higher Options is a fast-growing U.S.-based insurance agency looking for a bilingual Benefits Specialist who brings precision, warmth, and a genuine drive to help people navigate complex coverage decisions. This is not a passive inbox role. You will be the connective tissue between employer clients, their employees, and the carriers that serve them, keeping enrollments accurate, inquiries resolved, and relationships intact.
You will thrive here if you are energized by volume, take quality personally, and feel most satisfied when a complicated situation lands cleanly on the other side.
What You Will Do
- Respond to employee and employer inquiries via phone, email, and chat with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
- Explain coverage details across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, and supplemental plans
- Enroll, terminate, and update employees in employer-sponsored benefit plans; process qualifying life events, open enrollment changes, and cancellations
- Prepare and submit documentation to insurance carriers; follow up to confirm accuracy and completion
- Resolve billing discrepancies, carrier issues, and invoicing concerns; escalate complex cases with full context
- Perform quality checks on all benefits data and enrollments before submission
- Maintain clean, organized records across CRM systems and carrier portals
- Support peak enrollment cycles and assist with documentation for carrier appeals
- Identify recurring service gaps and contribute to internal FAQs and process documentation
What We Are Looking For
- Bilingual fluency: Advanced English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Experience: 1–2 years in customer service, benefits administration, call center operations, or SaaS and subscription-based environments
- Technical comfort: Proficiency with CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar), spreadsheets, and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Asana)
- Work style: You move with urgency, catch your own errors, and bring calm consistency to high-volume days
- People orientation: You communicate with patience and empathy, and you genuinely care about getting the answer right for the person on the other end
Work Conditions & Benefits
- Contract type: Contrato de Prestación de Servicios (you are responsible for your own social security and pension contributions)
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday; occasional weekend availability may be requested
- Compensation: USD $1,100–$1,300 per month, with potential for performance-based bonuses depending on client and tenure
- Time off: Colombian holidays and paid vacation days, depending on the client
- Remote work: Work from anywhere with a stable internet connection; results and accountability matter more than rigid clock-in requirements\
