Role Description The Customer Advocate is a full-time, on-site role based in Sturgis, MI, focused on delivering responsive, high-quality service to assigned customers. This role manages day-to-day customer inquiries, order entry, status updates, and issue resolution, ensuring accurate information and timely communication. The Customer Advocate collaborates closely with production, logistics, sales, and other internal teams to coordinate deliveries, address quality or scheduling concerns, and support continuous improvement in service levels. Responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date customer records, tracking key performance metrics, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the overall customer experience. This position requires consistent on-site presence to align with plant operations and support customers effectively.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and build long-term partnerships.
  • Solid communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening, to coordinate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple orders, requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions that support customer and business goals.
  • Comfort with business systems and basic computer applications (e.g., ERP/CRM tools, email, spreadsheets) to manage orders and customer information.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production, logistics, and sales, and to work independently with accountability for results.
  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or consumer goods industries is beneficial; prior customer-facing or account support experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field is a plus.
