We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Reservations Agent to join the team at the award winning 5-Star Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.

Objective of the Role:

Reporting to the Revenue Manager, the Reservations Agent will be responsible for maximising hotel revenue and guest satisfaction by receiving, handling and processing guest reservations under the direction of the Revenue Manager.

To be considered for this role, you must be fully flexible to work a range of shifts including Mornings, Evenings, Weekends and Public Holidays.

This is a full time role.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • To ensure that all reservations queries are dealt with in a professional manner and are answered within the required time frame.
  • To ensure that you have an in-depth knowledge of your department product and goals, in addition to being aware of all the Estates facilities.
  • To ensure that we maximise yield through occupancy and rate.
  • To liaise with reception to resolve any queries from guest billing.
  • Handle telephone, email, and online reservation enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Maximise room sales and revenue by upselling hotel services and packages
  • Accurately input, update, and manage guest bookings in the reservation system
  • Respond to guest queries and requests in a timely and friendly manner
  • Liaise with the front office, sales, and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth guest stays
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of room types, packages, hotel facilities, and local attractions
  • Assist with group bookings and corporate accounts as required
  • Follow all departmental procedures and policies to maintain high service standards

The Successful Candidate:

  • Must have previous experience in a Reservations Role
  • Previous use of Hotsoft is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Must have a positive outlook and a passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
  • Must have previous experience in a customer facing role
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Must have a high level of computer literacy
  • Must be able to work in a busy team environment
