Director of Engineering

We are looking for a passionate Director of Engineering to join our team at Rosewood Schloss Fuschl. You will be responsible for the strategic leadership, efficient operation, and continuous improvement of all engineering, maintenance, technical, and facilities functions across the property. The role safeguards the hotel's physical assets, ensures compliance with all legal and safety requirements, drives sustainability initiatives, and delivers a safe, reliable, and exceptional environment for guests and associates.

Key expectations:

• Develop and execute the Engineering Department strategy aligned with hotel business objectives
• Serve as the principal advisor to the Managing Director and Executive Committee on engineering, maintenance, sustainability, capital expenditure, and asset preservation
• Lead long-term asset management planning and lifecycle replacement strategies
• Ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of all building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life safety, and technical systems
• Establish and manage comprehensive preventive maintenance programmes
• Develop and lead energy management and sustainability initiatives
• Monitor utility consumption, establish reduction targets, and identify efficiency opportunities
• Develop and manage departmental operating and capital expenditure budgets
• Ensure cost-effective maintenance operations while maintaining luxury service standards
• Support operational decision-making through technical expertise and proactive problem-solving.

Profile:

• Minimum 7 – 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience within luxury hospitality, resorts, or comparable environments.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams and managing capital projects.
• Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance management, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team spirit and positive, professional attitude
