A high-growth AI company is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and scale its product engineering organization as it expands globally.
The company is building an AI-powered data platform for the manufacturing industry, transforming fragmented knowledge into structured, usable intelligence. With rapid growth across Japan, the US, and Southeast Asia, the next phase involves launching multiple new products globally on top of this platform.
This role goes beyond team management — you’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and business, driving both organizational effectiveness and product impact.
What You’ll Do

• Lead and scale engineering teams (single or multiple teams)
• Set and drive goals aligned with product vision and business strategy
• Design organizational structures to support rapid product expansion
• Develop managers and tech leads through coaching, feedback, and 1on1s
• Improve cross-team communication and productivity in a bilingual (JP/EN) environment
• Partner with product, business, and leadership stakeholders on key decisions
• Drive hiring and employer branding initiatives
• Identify and solve organizational bottlenecks to maximize engineering impact

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering product impact
• Experience managing multiple teams or large engineering organizations
• Background as a software engineer with hands-on development experience
• Ability to operate across technology, product, and business domains
• Strong Japanese and English communication skills (business level)

Nice to Have

• Experience in 0→1, 1→10, or 10→100 product phases
• Experience leading platform, data, or search-related engineering teams
• Experience as CTO / VPoE / Head of Engineering in a startup environment
• Experience managing multinational teams
• Business-level English and Japanese
