Sr IT Architect – Cloud M&A and Divestiture

You will serve as the primary cloud architect for M&A transactions, partnering with business leaders, enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, and external partners throughout the deal lifecycle. The role requires deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP, strong program execution capabilities, and experience managing complex cloud integrations and carve-outs.
Responsibilities
M&A Cloud Due Diligence
- Lead technical cloud assessments for acquisitions and divestitures.
- Evaluate cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP to identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and integration challenges.
- Assess cloud infrastructure, IAM models, networking, security controls, operational maturity, compliance posture, and application hosting strategies.
- Provide cloud-focused due diligence reports, integration recommendations, cost assessments, and risk mitigation plans.
- Support executive decision-making with architecture insights and transition roadmaps.
- Design and execute cloud onboarding strategies for acquired businesses.
- Develop plans to align acquired cloud environments with Honeywell cloud standards, security policies, operating models, and governance requirements.
- Lead tenant/subscription/account migrations and cloud consolidation activities.
- Drive implementation of Honeywell landing zones, identity integration, monitoring, logging, security controls, and operational processes.
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams to migrate workloads into approved enterprise cloud platforms.
- Lead cloud architecture activities supporting business divestitures and carve-outs.
- Develop separation strategies for cloud-hosted applications, data, infrastructure, and shared services.
- Identify interdependencies between Honeywell and divested entities.
- Design interim transition service architectures and target-state separation solutions.
- Ensure secure and compliant transfer of cloud assets while minimizing business disruption.
- Establish cloud architecture standards and integration patterns for M&A activities.
- Ensure onboarding organizations comply with Honeywell security, networking, identity, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Define target-state architectures across cloud platforms and hybrid environments.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud best practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate identified security and compliance gaps.
- Lead cloud identity integration activities, including Azure AD/Entra ID, IAM federation, SSO, RBAC, privileged access management, and directory consolidation.
- Develop cloud networking integration strategies covering peering, VPNs, transit architectures, DNS, load balancing, and segmentation.
- Ensure cloud security controls align with Honeywell cybersecurity standards.
- Support security assessments, remediation programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Serve as the cloud architecture lead for M&A transaction teams.
- Collaborate with business executives, legal, finance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and application owners.
- Translate business objectives into actionable cloud integration and separation plans.
- Provide executive-level updates, risk assessments, and status reporting.
- Manage external consultants, system integrators, and technology partners involved in transactions.
- Develop and mature Honeywell's cloud M&A playbooks, frameworks, assessment methodologies, and architectural standards.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate onboarding and separation activities through automation and reusable solutions.
- Stay current on cloud technologies, cybersecurity trends, and M&A integration best practices.
- Contribute to enterprise cloud strategy and transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or cloud transformation programs.
- 5+ years of experience supporting M&A integrations, divestitures, carve-outs, or large-scale enterprise transformations.
- Deep expertise across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity management, cybersecurity, governance, and compliance.
- Experience executing tenant migrations, cloud consolidations, and cloud operating model transformations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders and external partners.
- Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting global acquisition integrations or divestiture programs.
- Experience with cloud landing zones, governance frameworks, and enterprise-scale cloud operations.
- Familiarity with IT separation management, transition service agreements (TSAs), and Day 1/Day 100 integration planning.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks including SOX, ISO 27001, NIST, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
