Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, you will lead technology strategy, architecture, cybersecurity, software development, data platform, and technology operations - acting as a strategic business partner to the executive team. You will drive scalable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and customer-facing technology initiatives across the company.

This is a Business Technology CTO role, not a classic engineering CTO position.

The ideal candidate is roughly 40% technology leader, 40% business executive, and 20% operational strategist - equally comfortable speaking with developers, finance, operations, and the board. You will report directly to the CEO and sit on the senior leadership team.

A core mandate of this role is instilling a company-wide culture of data-driven decision making-not just building the tools, but making sure every department actually uses them to make decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

• Define and execute the company's technology roadmap
• Align technology investments with business objectives
• Lead architecture decisions and technology modernization
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI opportunities

Engineering & Product Delivery

• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams
• Establish development standards, SDLC processes, and quality controls
• Improve delivery predictability and development velocity
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance

Enterprise Systems & Integrations

• Oversee ERP, eCommerce, CRM, and operational systems
• Lead third-party integrations and API strategy
• Build and strengthen the core integration backbone connecting CRM, our database, and analytics/reporting systems — ensuring reliable, real-time data flow and eliminating sync failures between operational systems
• Drive automation initiatives across departments
• Ensure data consistency and system interoperability

Security & Compliance

• Own cybersecurity strategy and risk management
• Implement SSO, identity management, and access controls
• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry requirements

Data & AI

• Develop data strategy and governance framework
• Create a data catalog that gives the organization transparency and visibility into our data
• Upgrade our data systems to enable accurate, reliable analytics and reporting - and drive organization-wide adoption of these capabilities
• Champion company-wide AI adoption - introduce and embed AI tools and practices across every department, not just customer-facing or operational functions
• Drive a company-wide culture of data-driven decision making, across every department — not just within the technology organization

Executive Leadership

• Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, COO, and business leaders
• Present technology strategy and investment recommendations
• Manage technology budgets and vendor relationships
• Mentor and develop future technology leaders

Requirements

Must Have

• 10+ years in technology leadership, including 5+ years as CTO, VP Engineering, VP Technology, or a similar executive role
• Proven experience scaling technology organizations through growth phases
• Strong background in enterprise systems and cloud platforms (AWS)
• Experience managing both internal development teams and external vendors
• Strong financial and operational understanding, with the ability to translate business strategy into technology execution
• Cybersecurity and governance experience
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to the board and executive team

Nice to Have

• Experience with data platforms, analytics, and AI/automation initiatives
• API-driven integration experience across ERP, eCommerce, and CRM systems
• Background in modern software engineering practices, infrastructure, and DevOps
• Strong vendor negotiation and management experience
• Prior experience in the B2B trading industry
