Job Description

Spendkey is a UK/EU-focused B2B SaaS company building AI-native spend management solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers. The platform streamlines procurement, vendor management, and financial operations through intelligent automation and real-time analytics.

We are hiring a high-ownership Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 engineers (Backend, Full-stack, QA, DevOps). This is a hands-on leadership role with direct reporting to the CTO and strong collaboration with UK/EU product and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a 10–15 member engineering team
• Own end-to-end technical delivery and architecture decisions
• Drive engineering best practices (CI/CD, TDD, observability, scalability)
• Build and ship AI-native features (LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, automation)
• Collaborate closely with global stakeholders across UK & Europe
• Maintain strong quality metrics (DORA, uptime, test coverage)

Must-Have Experience

• 7–12 years total experience; 2–3+ years as Engineering Manager or Senior Tech Lead
• Managed teams of 10+ engineers in a SaaS product company
• Strong backend expertise (Python / Node.js / Go / Java) with React/Next.js exposure
• Experience shipping AI/LLM-based features in production
• Hands-on use of AI tools like Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot
• Experience in globally distributed teams

Preferred Skills

• B2B SaaS / FinTech domain exposure
• Experience with AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

This role offers direct exposure to the CTO, global product impact, and a strong growth path toward Director/VP Engineering as the India team scales.
