Position Description
An innovative advanced nuclear technology company is seeking a Vice President, Nuclear Fuel Program to lead the execution of its integrated nuclear fuel strategy supporting commercial reactor deployment.
Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee cross-functional execution across TRISO fuel development, manufacturing, HALEU fuel supply, and thorium feedstock strategy. Partnering with the Office of the CTO and leaders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and external organizations, you will drive program execution from technology development through commercial fuel production while ensuring alignment with reactor deployment milestones.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of the Nuclear Fuel Program, including strategy, schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Drive the transition of TRISO fuel technologies from development to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
- Oversee manufacturing readiness and scale-up to support reactor deployment.
- Develop and execute the HALEU TRISO fuel procurement strategy, including supplier qualification and commercial negotiations.
- Establish a secure, long-term thorium supply chain through strategic partnerships and upstream feedstock development.
- Coordinate execution across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and external partners.
- Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, manufacturing, and supply chain risks.
- Provide executive updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of leadership experience in the nuclear industry.
- Extensive experience with TRISO nuclear fuel development, manufacturing, or commercialization.
- Proven success leading complex nuclear fuel or advanced reactor programs.
- Experience managing national laboratories, contractors, and strategic partners.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear quality systems, regulatory requirements, and commercial deployment.
- Outstanding leadership, program management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct TRISO manufacturing experience.
- Experience with HALEU fuel procurement or qualification.
- Experience negotiating nuclear fuel supply agreements.
- Experience scaling advanced nuclear technologies into commercial production.
- Experience with thorium fuel cycles.
- Experience in thorium or uranium ore processing, monazite processing, hydrometallurgy, or nuclear fuel feedstock production.
- Experience leading international technical or commercial partnerships.
