Head of JoomAI
Indexed description
Today, Joom Group brings together the following businesses: Joom, a global cross-border marketplace; JoomPro, the first and only end-to-end cross-border B2B marketplace; JoomPulse, an AI analytics tool for Mercado Livre sellers; and Onfy, a pharmaceutical marketplace in Germany. Joom Group’s offices are located in China, Brazil, Portugal, Latvia, and Germany, with headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal. We work as one international team, sharing knowledge and collaborating across countries, businesses, and products.
Now we are looking for a Head of JoomAI. This is a new product within our ecosystem — an AI assistant for the e-commerce operator — and you will drive its creation and scaling as an AI-powered operating system for merchants.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for JoomAI
- Build and expand integrations with external platforms (ERP systems, Mercado Livre, WhatsApp, and others), turning JoomAI from an assistant into an operator that executes tasks on behalf of sellers
- Work directly with e-commerce sellers to identify high-value use cases and translate them into product decisions
- Design and ship AI agents and automated workflows that solve recurring seller problems
- Lead a focused product and engineering team
- 5+ years in product management, with a strong track record of owning products end-to-end — from strategy through launch and scaling. Time as a CPO or Head of Product is strongly preferred
- Proven experience in a senior product leadership role at a startup or high-growth tech company, ideally having launched and scaled products from zero to meaningful scale
- Exceptional product strategy and judgment: able to define a vision, prioritize ruthlessly, and translate ambiguous problems into a clear roadmap
- Hands-on, data-driven approach to product. Comfortable working directly with analytics
- Practical experience building with LLMs and AI agents, including a working understanding of how they behave, where they fail, and how to evaluate output quality. You don't need to build the models, but you should know how to shape and ship AI-powered products
- Strong enough technical fluency to scope work, assess timelines, and reason about integration complexity and architecture trade-offs with your engineering team
- Cross-functional operator: able to work fluidly across product, engineering, marketing, and commercial/content, and to lead a small but high-caliber team
- Compensation package: base salary, performance-based bonuses and stock options
- Office-first: flexible hours with a possibility to work remotely 52 days per year, and 22 days of paid annual leave
- Relocation Support: full assistance for a smooth relocation for the employees and their family
- Care & Wellbeing: health insurance (including dental care) for employees and their children, daily meal allowance, and 100% paid sick leave
- Team & Growth: collaboration with colleagues across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia and China, with opportunities for promotions, professional trainings, and English courses
- Community & Engagement: annual team building activities, knowledge-sharing workshops, and a strong sense of team work
