Purpose of the role:
The Enterprise Application Lead is responsible to design, development, integration, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise business applications across the organization. In addition to managing traditional enterprise systems, this role leads the development of AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, automation, decision support, and employee productivity.
This position combines technical leadership, solution architecture, AI implementation, stakeholder management, and team coordination to ensure enterprise platforms and AI initiatives align with business objectives, security standards, and scalability requirements.
Job Scope:
Next Generation AI Strategy & Architecture
- Lead the strategy, architecture, implementation, and support of enterprise applications and our internal AI platform running on GenAI, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented-Generation), and Agentic AI capabilities at an Enterprise grade.
- Design and build upon an AI architecture that covers AI governance, guardrails, and multi-LLM agents utilizing MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers within Wasco’s environment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strict alignment with the EU AI Act 2024.
- Create and orchestrate a federated network of personalized, contextualized AI agents across all global departments and business units. Deliver these on a single, unified platform featuring seamless cross-border integrations, tailored to localized business needs and regional regulations with high confidence level of AI response and minimal AI hallucination.
IoT & Predictive Analytics for Renewable Energy Use Cases
- Lead the development of an industrial equipment predictive maintenance platform specific to the Renewable Energy sector.
- Architect pipelines to ingest and process high-frequency IoT sensor data, utilizing real-time, event-driven streaming frameworks (e.g., AWS IoT, Apache Kafka, and serverless architectures).
- Train the AI agent that can understand very specifically about Wasco’s Renewable Energy business and operations.
Global Enterprise Architecture & Lifecycle Management
- Govern the end-to-end application lifecycle (planning, deployment, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning) across a hybrid integrated architecture (on-prem, private cloud, and public cloud) spanning >10 countries globally. The solution will need to be scalable and expandable depending on the growth and business needs of Wasco.
- Ensure all enterprise systems are highly scalable, secure, reliable, and seamlessly integrated across diverse business units.
- Drive standardization, governance, and best practices for enterprise platforms, establishing unified coding and architectural standards to be applied by software developers across all operating countries.
Stakeholder Alignment & Vendor Management
- o Collaborate with global business units to translate highly diverse operational requirements and industry backgrounds into agile, high-impact technical solutions.
- o Manage strategic vendors, third-party integrations, complex licensing models, and external service providers to optimize performance and cost.
- o Oversee enterprise-grade application performance monitoring (APM), proactive incident management, and rapid issue resolution.
Security, Compliance & Data Sovereignty
- Ensure absolute compliance with global cybersecurity standards, data privacy laws, and regulatory frameworks, with a strong focus on GDPR, PDPA, and regional policies governing cross-border data flows.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise applications, software development, or IT leadership.
- Experience managing enterprise grade applications.
- Hands-on experience with proven record of implementing AI technologies, LLMs, prompt engineering, automation platforms, or machine learning tools successfully.
- Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with enterprise security and governance practices.
- Experience in key platforms, tools or programming languages, e.g. SAP, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Outsystems, Salesforce, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, middleware etc.
- Hands-on experience in implementing Google Cloud Platform’s Vertex AI, BigQuery, CloudSQL, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Load Balancer, Network etc.
- Experience in applying Django Framework and PHP Laravel / Codeigniter into software development.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining different types of database – SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL as a minimum.
- Experience in Energy sector, including bioenergy, oil & gas, engineering & fabrication
- Possess real-life experience in implementing Internet of Things (IoT), AI and data project for biomass sector’ predictive maintenance and equipment performance monitoring.
