Overview
To strengthen the R&D and engineering organisation of an established high-tech machine manufacturer, we are seeking an experienced Head of Machine Analytics & Simulation.
This is a senior technical leadership position combining machine simulation, data analytics and people management. You will lead a specialist engineering team responsible for using simulation, modelling and real machine data to better understand machine behaviour, optimise performance and support the development of the next generation of high-precision machinery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Machine Analytics & Simulation team, both technically and operationally.
- Drive the development and application of simulation models for complex, high-precision machinery.
- Analyse machine, sensor and process data to identify opportunities to improve performance, accuracy, reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and implement digital twin, modelling and simulation concepts.
- Support the investigation of machine dynamics, vibration, thermal behaviour and other factors influencing machine performance.
- Work closely with software, mechanical, electrical, controls and R&D engineering teams.
- Translate simulation and analytical findings into practical improvements for machines and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate technical projects and ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineers while promoting modern engineering methods and best practices.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computational Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Technical Skills
- Several years of professional experience within machine simulation, machine analytics, digital twins or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of complex machinery, machine dynamics and/or physical system modelling.
- Experience developing and applying numerical simulation and modelling techniques.
- Experience analysing machine, sensor or process data within an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of digital twin, predictive analytics, condition monitoring or predictive maintenance concepts is advantageous.
- Experience with tools and technologies such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C++, Modelica, ANSYS, Abaqus or COMSOL is beneficial.
- Experience within special-purpose machinery, machine tools, precision engineering, automation, robotics, semiconductor equipment or another high-tech manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

- Hands-on technical mindset combined with the ability to provide strategic direction.
- High level of ownership, initiative and technical curiosity.
Languages
- Fluent German and English skills.
