Your role is to help shape Arrowhead’s long-term technical strategy while rolling up your sleeves to tackle challenges that require deep technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute Arrowhead’s technical vision. Craft and lead a technology roadmap that supports current projects and lays the foundation for the future of co-op gaming.
- Lead by example. Dive into development when needed, using your technical expertise to inspire and guide teams.
- Nurture a strong engineering culture. Foster an environment of collaboration, creativity, and high performance where technical teams can level up and thrive.
- Build and lead technical teams. Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent while managing and mentoring engineering leaders.
- Drive innovation. Identify and implement new technologies and tools that enable efficient and scalable game development.
- Collaborate across disciplines. Work closely with creative and production teams to align technical solutions with studio goals.
- Ensure technical excellence. Oversee the stability, performance, and scalability of our games, tools, and infrastructure.
- Proven leadership. Proven leadership at scale. You've led engineering within organizations of 200+ people, and you're already at ease in rooms full of senior stakeholders and C-level executives. This role calls on that experience from day one.
- A developer at heart. You have 10+ years of development experience, with a solid track record of combining technical expertise with leadership, always staying close to the code and guiding the teams to deliver results. You’re fluent in programming languages like C++, C#, Lua, and more.
- Track record of success. You’ve shipped games from start to finish and have experience working with diverse stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
- Vision and pragmatism. You balance big-picture strategy with a practical approach to solving problems.
- Experience with modern tech stacks. You’re comfortable leading engine transitions, adopting new technologies, and tackling the technical challenges of cross-platform development. Including Unreal Engine.
- Passionate about games. You’re an avid gamer who understands the creative and technical nuances of game development.
- Business experience, either in a startup environment or with broader business responsibilities.
- Public speaking experience at conferences, panels, or similar events. Deep familiarity platform-specific development for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.

Practical Information
- Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with an initial 6-month probation period.
- Location: Office-first, with a hybrid solution possible. We are a pet-friendly office. Dogs and the occasional cat roam around.
