Technical Director

Scope of Work:

• Lead and oversee all technical aspects of building envelope projects, including façade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, roofing, and waterproofing systems.
• Provide technical guidance from tender stage through design, fabrication, installation, and project completion.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, building codes, industry standards, and quality expectations.
• Support project teams in resolving complex design, fabrication, and installation challenges.
• Drive value engineering, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and technical teams.
• Manage technical risks and ensure successful project execution.
• Promote engineering excellence, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Master's Degree is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in façade, building envelope, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or related construction sectors.
• Proven experience leading large-scale building envelope projects from design through installation.
• Strong knowledge of façade engineering, structural performance, waterproofing, thermal and acoustic requirements, and applicable building codes.
• Experience working with architects, consultants, developers, main contractors, and specialist façade contractors.
• Familiarity with BIM and design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting tendering, value engineering, and project delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
