Lead Product Owner / Manager – AI Platform Strategy (m/f/d)

Location: Remote within Germany / HQ in Münster

Many AI companies have more opportunities than they can realistically pursue. The difficult part isn’t generating ideas—it’s deciding where to focus, what not to build and how every product decision connects to a clear strategy.

That is the challenge you’ll take ownership of here.

Our client is an established German software and AI company with around 150 employees and strong academic roots. Founded by a university professor (in 2012), the company operates behind the scenes of digital products across the German Sparkassen ecosystem and is involved in KIPilot, helping bring secure and practical AI into one of Germany’s largest financial networks.

Its DialogBits agentic AI platform supports intelligent assistants and process automation across banking, the core platform and individual enterprise customers.

The Product Hub is split into three value streams:

• Banking and the Sparkassen/Finanz Informatik ecosystem
• The core DialogBits platform
• Individual enterprise customers

As a Lead Product Owner/Manager, you’ll sit across all three.

You’ll own the overall product strategy, create alignment between the streams and ensure that short-term demands don’t pull the platform away from its long-term potential. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and provide strategic direction and challenge to the Area Product Owners.

What you’ll own

• Define and communicate the overall vision and strategy for the DialogBits platform
• Translate company-level ambitions into clear product priorities and strategic decisions
• Maintain oversight across all three value streams
• Ensure Area Product Backlogs connect to one coherent platform strategy
• Challenge requirements and priorities proposed by Area Product Owners and senior stakeholders
• Make difficult trade-offs between customer demands, commercial opportunities, technical viability and long-term platform value
• Create alignment between senior leadership, Area Product Owners, engineering teams and external stakeholders
• Protect the platform from becoming a collection of disconnected customer-specific features
• Develop outcome-based roadmaps and provide clarity on where the product should—and should not—go
• Help Area Product Owners move beyond requirement management towards genuine product ownership
• Shape and improve product development within a LeSS Huge environment
• Take executive-level accountability for the success and direction of the product

What you’ll bring

• Significant experience owning the strategy and development of complex software products
• A background as a Senior Product Owner, Head of Product, Product Lead or comparable product leader
• Evidence of setting product direction across multiple teams, domains or value streams
• The confidence and authority to make difficult decisions and defend them with evidence
• Experience coaching Product Owners to focus on customer discovery, outcomes and strategic value
• A strong understanding of the difference between delivering projects and building sustainable products
• Experience balancing large enterprise requirements against standardisation and platform scalability
• Ideally, experience with AI, LLMs, conversational AI or process automation
• Ideally, experience building and scaling SaaS, PaaS or platform products
• Strong knowledge of LeSS, LeSS Huge or product development across multiple agile teams
• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Fluent German and strong English
