Job Title: IT Director
General Summary Of Duties
Responsible for leading organization's technology vision, strategy, and operations, overseeing IT infrastructure, managing budgets and staff, ensuring data security, managing vendor relationships, and aligning tech solutions with business goals, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, strategic thinking, and communication skills to drive innovation and support overall company objectives.
Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning -
Develop and implement IT strategies, roadmaps, and policies, aligning technology with business goals.
Leadership & Management -
Manage, mentor, and develop the IT team; oversee daily operations and project implementation.
Infrastructure & Systems -
Oversee IT infrastructure, networks, systems, security, and hardware/software lifecycles.
Security & Compliance -
Ensure data security, disaster recovery, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Budget & Vendors -
Manage IT budgets, forecasts, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Cross-functional Collaboration -
Liaise with other departments to understand needs and provide technical guidance.
Experience
- Minimum seven to ten (7-10) years of experience in managing information technology preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
- Knowledge of systems and application design, problem identification, and background in decentralized, mid-sized (50-100 provider) multi-specialty medical practice operation.
- Broad knowledge of systems, networks, cloud, security protocols, and development lifecycles.
- Deep experience of endpoint, server and storage hardware, applications, and secure IP based data and voice communications.
- Knowledge of basic scripting programming languages - PowerShell, Perl, VBScript, etc.
- 3-5 years' experience managing both operational and capital budget management.
- 7-10 years demonstrated management of technical teams, service desk staff
- Certifications desired that would be applicable: CISSP, HCISPP, CISM, MSCE, PMP, ITIL
- Prior experience with Athena Practice EMR helpful.
- Strong background in root cause analysis, proactive process development, continuous improvement frameworks.
- Exceptional problem resolution, and negotiation both up and down the chain to be able to build consensus and achieve business goals.
- Broad based background in IT operations, IT healthcare security, project management, and execution skillset.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with vendors and employees of all levels.
- Must be able to work as a team player.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to multi-task. Frequent interruptions require being able to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be service oriented.
- Ability to exercise initiative.
- Deals effectively with all races, nationalities, cultures, disabilities, ages and genders.
