Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
• Extensive mechanical design experience
• Extensive structural design experience
• Experience performing structural engineering calculations
• Extensive hydraulic system design experience
• Strong knowledge of direct and torsional shear
• Strong knowledge of single-axis and multiaxial bending
• Strong knowledge of compressive, tensile, and combined stresses
• Knowledge of material yield strength, ultimate strength, and safety factors
• Experience with 3D CAD systems
• Experience with finite element analysis
• Knowledge of machine capabilities and manufacturing processes
• Experience managing engineering projects
• Experience providing technical direction to engineers and designers
• Experience supporting customer-facing engineering activities

Preferred Skills

• Extensive product development experience with mobile equipment
• Extensive product development experience with material handling equipment
• Professional Engineer license
• MBA
• Experience applying AI-assisted engineering or design tools
• Experience with value engineering
• Experience with design optimization and cost reduction
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations

Job Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams responsible for mechanical, structural, and hydraulic system development
• Provide technical direction to engineers and designers
• Review structural calculations and engineering analyses
• Evaluate designs involving shear, bending, tensile, compressive, and combined stresses
• Verify material strength requirements and safety factors
• Lead development of complex mechanical and structural systems
• Oversee hydraulic system design and integration
• Review 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Review and approve finite element analysis activities
• Ensure designs account for machine capabilities and manufacturing processes
• Lead product development activities from concept through production
• Establish engineering design methods, standards, and technical requirements
• Support design reviews and technical problem resolution
• Manage engineering project scope, schedules, resources, and deliverables
• Support customer technical reviews and product requirements
• Drive value engineering and design optimization initiatives
• Evaluate emerging engineering technologies, including AI-assisted design tools
• Support development and improvement of engineering processes and systems
