Software Engineering Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

You must CURRENTLY live in the Denver area with a current Colorado address and be able to commute to DTC 3-4x per week.

What is expected and what is required in this role...

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team (including local, nearshore, and contractor talent) through coaching, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Hands-On Technical Execution: Drive architecture, design, and delivery for scalable distributed applications on Microsoft Azure while remaining capable of jumping into the code when needed.
• AI Tooling Integration: Champion and evaluate AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to optimize SDLC workflows, increase speed, and maintain responsible AI practices.
• Agile Process & Operations: Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, manage cross-team dependencies, unblock technical obstacles, and keep delivery on schedule.
• Engineering Excellence: Enforce high standards for maintainable, testable code, robust RESTful APIs, modern design patterns, and comprehensive code reviews.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate business goals into technical decisions, working closely with Product, Design, QA, and executive stakeholders.
• Required Leadership Experience: 7+ years of software engineering experience alongside 3+ years directly managing engineering teams across tight deadlines.
• Core Tech Stack: Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, C#, React, Postgres/SQL, Cosmos, Kubernetes, and Docker (BA/BS in Computer Science preferred).
