This is an opportunity to join a leader at the forefront of U.S. power markets. As the company continues to scale its integrated energy portfolio, they are building out advanced capabilities across congestion trading, market modeling, and grid analytics.

They are seeking a Head of Grid Modeling to drive the development of power flow and market simulation models that directly inform trading, risk, and commercial strategy. This role sits at the intersection of power systems engineering, quantitative modeling, and trading, with a strong focus on PJM and ERCOT.

You’ll lead efforts to model transmission constraints, forecast congestion, and replicate ISO market behavior, working closely with trading teams and influencing high-impact decisions across the portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed AC/DC power flow models across PJM and ERCOT

• Build and calibrate market simulation models replicating ISO dispatch and pricing mechanisms

• Analyze LMP formation, congestion drivers, and transmission constraints impacting market outcomes

• Monitor grid topology changes, outages, and infrastructure developments to inform trading strategy

• Design and implement data pipelines and analytics tools for processing market and transmission data

• Integrate grid and market models into trading, risk, and commercial decision-making systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field

• 5–7+ years of experience in ISO markets, power systems analysis, or energy market modeling

• Strong expertise in AC/DC power flow, contingency analysis, and transmission systems

• Experience with power system tools such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, Promod, Dayzer, or similar

• Strong programming and data skills (Python or equivalent), with ability to scale models into production

• Understanding of DA/RT market dynamics, LMP formation, and congestion modeling

• Knowledge of ARR/FTR markets, ISO tariffs, and FERC regulations

Preferred Experience

• Experience working closely with congestion traders or trading teams

• Familiarity with ISO-specific market models and transmission frameworks

• Background in congestion risk management or competitive market analysis

• Experience within a trading firm, ISO, or energy consulting environment
