What role will you play?
Working closely with the Director of Product and you will be responsible for technology end to end for the Wealth Core Platform, taking ownership of products in iterative cycles from architecture and design through to development, testing and operations. You will be accountable for the engineering strategy, roadmaps and processes including CI/CD, production support and continual process improvement, along with investigating and resolving production incidents and driving post-mortems to strengthen platform stability and resilience. You will also foster and nurture an innovative culture that encourages lateral thinking & early risk escalation while taking a collaborative approach to problem solving.
With experience in a similar leadership role, you will have an agile mindset and an impressive software engineering track record across Java-based cloud applications, Springboot and microservices architecture. We utilise the latest cloud technologies including AWS and Google Cloud, relational and NoSQL databases, and event streaming. To be successful in this role, you will attract, coach and retain industry leading engineers while maintaining strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders. You will also engage with architects & business heads to understand and influence the business and technology strategies while actively keep your knowledge of emerging technologies up to date.
What You Offer
- Proven Engineering Leadership: Extensive experience leading software engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding and experience in designing, implementing, and operating mission-critical, large-scale investment and wealth management platforms. With experience in one or more of the following areas - Java, Springboot, microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Cloud Experience: Proficiency in cloud-based technologies, including AWS and Google Cloud, with experience in managing and optimizing infrastructure and site reliability engineering practices.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and execute platform strategies, manage complex engineering initiatives, and optimise resources.
- Collaborative Leader: A collaborative and communicative leader, able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Agile Mindset: Passionate about building and managing scalable, maintainable, and high-performing platforms using agile methodologies.
