Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Solution Architect / Enterprise Architect with a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, industrial automation, machine reliability, and enterprise systems integration. The ideal candidate will help define and implement scalable technology solutions that support smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and IT organizations to define solution requirements aligned with manufacturing strategy.
- Design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that integrate shop-floor systems such as MES and SCADA with enterprise applications including ERP, PLM, and QMS.
- Lead solution architecture for smart factory initiatives, including IoT, data analytics, digital twins, and other Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, tools, and vendors for manufacturing environments.
- Ensure architectural solutions comply with enterprise standards, cybersecurity policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design and architecture through implementation and deployment.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership within Agile delivery teams and actively participate in daily, weekly, and sprint ceremonies.
- Support process mapping, gap analysis, and system configuration in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including system blueprints, data-flow diagrams, integration patterns, and technical specifications.
- Identify architectural and implementation risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Stay current with emerging Industry 4.0, manufacturing technologies, automation, and digital transformation trends.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, systems integration, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
- 5+ years of experience working specifically within manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, including:
- MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS
- Industrial networking
- Machine reliability and maintenance technologies
- Hands-on experience with Maximo or other Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) / reliability-centered maintenance platforms.
- Strong knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, as well as edge-computing technologies.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and integration patterns, including APIs, middleware, OPC-UA, MQTT, and other OT/IT integration technologies.
- Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, predictive maintenance, digital twins, and advanced analytics.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise integration architectures across manufacturing and business systems.
Soft Skills

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to understand changing business requirements while evaluating the impact on both technology and business operations.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts and business alternatives to diverse audiences, including Product Owners, Chief Product Owners, IT leaders, Technical Leads, and Senior Management.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies, platforms, strategies, and solutions that support future business growth and operational efficiency.
Preferred Certifications
- TOGAF, ArchiMate, or other recognized architecture frameworks.
- Certifications in MES or ERP platforms, such as SAP PP/ME, Rockwell, or Siemens.
- PMP or Agile project-management certification.
- AWS or Azure Solution Architect certification.
- Other relevant architecture, cloud, manufacturing, or enterprise technology certifications.
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing and deploying Predictive Maintenance (PdM) enterprise solutions integrating equipment data with enterprise systems.
- Experience with manufacturing data, equipment telemetry, IoT platforms, and advanced analytics.
- Experience working across OT/IT environments and integrating shop-floor technologies with enterprise applications.
