The General Manager – Electronics Engineering will lead the complete Electronics Engineering function for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), driving the design, development, validation, and industrialization of all electronic subsystems. The role will be responsible for Battery Management Systems (BMS), Power Electronics interfaces, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Control Electronics, PCB Design, Embedded Hardware, Communication Systems, and System Integration to deliver reliable, scalable, and globally compliant BESS products.

The incumbent will provide strategic technical leadership while collaborating with Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project teams to develop world-class energy storage solutions for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Utility-scale BESS applications.


Key Responsibilities

Electronics Engineering Leadership

  • Define and execute the electronics technology roadmap for BESS platforms.
  • Lead end-to-end electronic system design from concept to production.
  • Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, and development processes.
  • Drive innovation in intelligent battery electronics and digital energy management.


BMS Electronics Development

  • Lead the design and development of Battery Management System (BMS) hardware.
  • Define Battery Control Unit (BCU) and Cell Monitoring Unit (CMU) architecture.
  • Develop cell voltage sensing, temperature sensing, current measurement, balancing circuits, isolation monitoring, and protection electronics.
  • Ensure high reliability and functional safety of BMS hardware.


Power Electronics Integration

  • Lead integration of electronic systems with:
  • Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
  • Inverters
  • DC-DC Converters
  • Auxiliary Power Supplies
  • Contactors & Pre-charge Circuits
  • Protection Devices
  • Support system-level electrical architecture and interface design.


Embedded Hardware Development

  • Lead embedded hardware design including:
  • Microcontroller-based control boards
  • Analog and digital circuit design
  • Signal conditioning
  • Power supplies
  • Communication interfaces
  • Drive PCB schematic capture, layout review, and hardware validation.


Control & Communication Systems

  • Develop communication architecture using:
  • CAN / CAN FD
  • Modbus RTU/TCP
  • Ethernet
  • RS-485
  • TCP/IP
  • MQTT
  • OPC-UA
  • Ensure seamless communication between BMS, EMS, PCS, SCADA, and cloud platforms.


Electronics Validation & Testing

  • Lead validation of electronic systems through:
  • Functional Testing
  • EMC/EMI Testing
  • Environmental Testing
  • Thermal Testing
  • HALT/HASS
  • Reliability Testing
  • Electrical Safety Testing
  • Support product certification activities.


Product Development

  • Lead electronic system development from concept, prototype, design verification, pilot build, and mass production.
  • Review hardware architecture, DFMEA, design verification plans, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR).


Component Engineering

  • Define component selection strategy for:
  • Microcontrollers
  • Semiconductors
  • MOSFETs
  • IGBTs
  • Relays & Contactors
  • Current Sensors
  • Voltage Sensors
  • Communication Modules
  • Connectors
  • Drive alternate component qualification to mitigate supply chain risks.

  • IEC 61000 (EMC)
  • IEC 61508
  • ISO 26262 (where applicable)

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (Preferred).


Experience

  • 18–20 years of experience in Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 8–10 years in leadership roles managing electronics development teams.
  • Strong experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicles (EV), Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Electronics.
  • Proven track record in product development from concept to commercialization.
