Head of Engineering / Senior Lead Engineer

We are hiring a senior engineering leader to take ownership of our engineering team and our technical delivery.

Ventory is the field inventory layer between your ERP and the field. We give companies total control and real-time visibility of every item that lives outside the warehouse: consigned implants in hospitals, spare parts in engineer vans, loaner kits at surgical centres. We integrate with the customer's ERP (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Sage and more), deploy in under 4 weeks, and our mobile-first, offline-capable app earns 95%+ adoption from field teams. We are ISO 27001-certified, SOC 2-compliant and GDPR-ready, and already live with Medtronic, NHS London Ambulance Service, Unilever and DHL Supply Chain. We are a lean, fast-moving B2B SaaS company headquartered in Zaventem, Belgium, scaling toward our next phase of growth.

Depending on your experience, this is either a Head of Engineering role (leadership-first) or a Senior Lead Engineer role (hands-on player-coach): we will calibrate the title and scope to the right person.

Either way, you will lead the current team and help drive the product roadmap alongside our CEO and Product.

• Lead, manage and grow the current engineering team: line management, rituals, mentoring and hiring.
• Own delivery of the product roadmap, starting with our top priority: ERP integrations (Sage Intacct first), then vertical features and AI differentiation.
• Set the engineering standards: architecture, code quality, CI/CD, security and reliability for an enterprise-grade, mobile-first, offline-capable platform.
• Translate business and product priorities into a clear technical plan, and ship it predictably.
• Stay hands-on where it counts: architecture decisions, critical features and unblocking the team.
• 7+ years building and shipping production B2B/SaaS software, with strong technical depth.
• Experience leading or managing engineers, or a senior lead ready to step into leadership.
• A track record owning architecture for enterprise software, ideally involving integrations (ERP/APIs).
• Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving scale-up where priorities move quickly.
• Fluent English; based in Belgium with the right to work here.

• ERP / integration experience (Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).
• Exposure to regulated or enterprise environments (MedTech, healthcare, supply chain) and their security expectations.
• Experience scaling an engineering team from startup to scale-up.
• Dutch and/or French.
• Equity / stock-option participation and a real seat at the table on technical strategy.
