Roughly one-third of the world's food is never consumed - some 1.3 billion tonnes wasted each year. Our client addresses this through applied machine learning: a demand-forecasting SaaS platform that reduces fresh-food waste by up to 30% while lifting enterprise revenue.

Already trusted by Germany's largest grocery retailers and live across multiple European markets, it has raised an 8-figure Series A, reached €2M ARR, and holds contracts to reach €5M this year.

Role Overview:

You'll join as CTO, the hands-on technical owner of an ML-heavy forecasting platform, leading engineering and operating shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO to scale the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the technical strategy and architecture of the forecasting platform.
• Lead, grow and mentor a lean team of high-output engineers and ML specialists.
• Stay close to the detail, steering your engineers through the hard technical calls.
• Partner with the CEO on product direction and company growth.
• Set the technical vision as the product scales into new markets.

Qualifications:

• An engineering leader who has built, grown and mentored high-performing teams.
• Still deeply technical: strong Python, and stays close to the code.
• Real machine-learning or AI-engineering experience behind the product.
• Has delivered B2B enterprise SaaS to large, demanding customers.
• Has scaled an early-stage startup from the ground up.
