Head of Engineering

Role Summary:

We are looking for a strong technology architect and engineering leader to build and lead the engineering function at a hypergrowth portfolio company.

This is a hands-on technology leadership role — we are looking for someone with deep architectural depth who can make critical technology decisions, while also building and managing a high-performing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technology architecture and engineering roadmap as the company scales.
• Make key decisions around architecture, scalability, reliability, security and technology choices.
• Build systems that can support rapid business and product growth without compromising speed or reliability.
• Lead, mentor and scale the engineering team, including hiring and developing strong engineering talent.
• Work closely with the founders and product leadership to translate business priorities into robust technology solutions.
• Establish strong engineering practices around code quality, technical standards, delivery and engineering excellence.
• Stay close to the technology and be able to deep-dive into complex technical problems when required.

Ideal Profile

• 12+ years of engineering experience, with significant experience as a technology architect / senior engineering leader.
• Deep expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and building scalable products.
• Has personally architected and scaled complex, high-throughput technology platforms.
• Proven ability to transition from architect → engineering leader, combining technical depth with people leadership.
• Has built and managed strong engineering teams and can attract high-quality technical talent.
• Strong product and business orientation; comfortable working directly with founders and operating in a high-ambiguity environment.
• Ideally comes from a high-growth startup / scale-up environment and is excited by a hands-on, builder-oriented mandate.
