Software Engineering Director (Investment Product)

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead the engineering organization responsible for Bitkub's core trading platform and digital asset ecosystem. This role will drive the technical vision, engineering strategy, and execution of highly available, secure, scalable, and low-latency systems that power one of Thailand's leading digital asset exchanges. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience managing multiple engineering teams and possesses deep knowledge of trading systems, exchange platforms, blockchain technologies, and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers and multiple software engineering teams while fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
• Define and execute the engineering strategy, technology roadmap, and architecture aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, and operation of mission-critical trading systems, including Order Management System (OMS), Matching Engine, Market Data Services, Trading APIs, Wallet Services, Asset Deposit & Withdrawal, and Risk Management systems.
• Ensure platform scalability, high availability, security, and performance to support increasing trading volumes and business growth.
• Partner closely with Product, Compliance, Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams to deliver innovative digital asset products and trading capabilities.
• Lead the engineering delivery of new blockchain integrations, token listings, wallet infrastructure, custody solutions, and other digital asset initiatives.
• Drive engineering best practices across software development, system architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and technical direction for distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
• Monitor engineering performance through key metrics such as system reliability, deployment frequency, incident response, software quality, and engineering productivity.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure platform stability and resilience.
• Manage engineering resource planning, budgeting, hiring, organizational design, performance management, and succession planning.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, blockchain innovations, digital asset trends, and trading system advancements to drive continuous innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years leading engineering managers and large engineering organizations.
• Proven experience building and operating large-scale, high-throughput, mission-critical distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of trading systems, exchange platforms, order lifecycle, matching engines, market data, real-time messaging, and API platforms.
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, digital assets, wallet infrastructure, custody, and exchange operations.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software architecture.
• Strong technical background in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and high-availability platform design.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
• Experience in fintech, capital markets, cryptocurrency exchanges, brokerage platforms, payment systems, or other financial technology environments is highly preferred.
