This is a greenfield opportunity for a senior technical professional who wants to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, architecture and strategic influence.

The Role

We are looking for a senior technical professional who is highly hands-on but also capable of providing technical leadership and strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can move seamlessly between:

Hands-on Engineering → Architecture → Technical Strategy → Team Leadership

This is not a purely strategic, managerial or consulting position.

You will be expected to personally contribute to technical solutions and implementation while also defining technical concepts, influencing architecture and building a high-performing technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap
• Design and implement robust and scalable technical solutions
• Lead architectural and technology decisions
• Remain hands-on with technical development and implementation
• Build and lead an initial technical team of approximately 4 people
• Recruit, mentor and develop future technical specialists
• Establish engineering standards, processes and best practices
• Work closely with the CEO and senior stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
• Take ownership of technical projects from concept through implementation
• Help establish the technical function and culture from the ground up

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• Significant experience in a senior technical leadership, engineering or architecture role
• Strong hands-on technical expertise
• Experience designing and implementing complex technical solutions
• Experience leading, managing or mentoring technical teams
• Strong architectural and problem-solving capabilities
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution
• A track record of taking technical concepts through to implementation
• An entrepreneurial, pragmatic and hands-on mindset
• Excellent communication skills in English

German language skills are not required.

🌍 International Candidates & Relocation

The position is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and international candidates are very welcome.

Relocation to Frankfurt is an important part of the role, so we are looking for candidates who are genuinely committed to relocating and establishing themselves in Frankfurt.

💰 Salary: €180,000–€200,000+

Value & Risk recognises the rarity and strategic importance of this position and is prepared to offer a highly competitive salary package of approximately €180,000–€200,000+ for the right candidate.

The package will be dependent on experience, technical expertise and overall suitability.
