Robotics / Physical AI Architect
Indexed description
About the opportunity
Our client is undergoing a significant transition into the Physical AI and Robotics space and is building out a new engineering capability focused on intelligent, autonomous and simulation-driven robotic systems.
As part of this expansion, they are looking to hire multiple Robotics / Physical AI Architects who can help shape the technical direction of complex robotics platforms — from modelling and simulation through to real-world deployment.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced engineering environment while having a significant influence on the architecture, technology choices and development of next-generation robotic systems.
What we're looking for
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in C++, Python or Julia
- Experience with system programming and real-time systems
- Strong background in robotics, simulation, modelling or industrial systems
- Experience with modelling continuous, discrete and event-driven systems
- Strong knowledge of simulation environments such as MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, Mathematica, Ansys or OpenFOAM
- Experience with physics-based robotics simulation using Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac, V-REP or similar
- Strong understanding of numerical methods, concurrent programming and algorithms
- Knowledge of control systems, estimation, optimisation and nonlinear systems
- Experience developing or architecting robotic systems
- Strong Linux / Unix experience
- Understanding of distributed control systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, deployment and monitoring
- Ability to work at both architectural and hands-on engineering levels
What you'll be doing
- Define and own the architecture of complex Physical AI and robotic systems
- Develop digital twins and simulation environments for real-world systems
- Lead modelling, simulation and optimisation initiatives
- Design solutions for autonomous and industrial robotic applications
- Develop rapid prototypes and transition successful concepts into production
- Validate robotic systems through both simulation and real-world testing
- Work across areas including control, motion planning, sensing, decision-making and optimisation
- Research and introduce new technologies and approaches within robotics and Physical AI
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to turn complex requirements into scalable technical solutions
Why join?
This is a chance to get in at an important stage of a company's transition into Physical AI and Robotics, with the opportunity to influence architecture and technology direction rather than simply delivering against an established roadmap.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, have exposure to a broad and evolving technology stack, and play a key role in building the next generation of intelligent robotic systems.
