Head of IT Infrastructure

Head of IT Infrastructure | Mannheim

This is a global hybrid infrastructure platform still taking shape, not one running in steady-state. The mandate is to simplify, standardise and automate operations spanning multiple regions, with real budget and authority behind it.

You'd lead a sizeable global team across cloud, data centre, network, workplace and identity services, and shape the operating model itself, including how nearshore and offshore capacity fits in. It's a role with genuine scope to influence direction, not just maintain what's there.

The role:

→ Own the stability, security and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure operations worldwide, along with the strategic direction of where the platform goes next.

→ Lead and develop a global infrastructure organisation, both professionally and disciplinarily.

→ Set and continuously improve SLAs and KPIs across a global IT environment.

→ Build clear ownership and accountability into a scalable, hybrid operating model.

→ Manage external service providers in close coordination with the internal sourcing team.

→ Partner closely with information security to keep the platform compliant as it scales.

What you'll need:

→ Several years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure or IT operations, ideally in a comparable role.

→ Several years of experience managing managers or other leaders.

→ Solid experience operating hybrid IT environments spanning on-premise and cloud.

→ Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

→ Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Collaboration, Endpoint, and Identity & Access Management.

→ Experience implementing and operating SASE solutions.

→ Fluent English and German.
