CTO / Founding Technology Leader — Global AI-Native Tech Talent Venture

We're looking for an exceptional CTO / Founding Technology Leader to lead technology vision, AI architecture, product engineering, and technology strategy for SkillsCapital's next major opportunity: a new AI-native Career Intelligence platform for technology professionals globally.

This is a builder's role, not a traditional CTO role focused mainly on managing teams, maintaining systems, or executing an established roadmap.

You are not starting from zero. SkillsCapital has already built and deployed an AI-Native Talent Engine, proprietary Talent Intelligence capabilities, and Agentic AI-driven end-to-end workflows. These systems are operational, production-ready, and deployed in business workflows and customer environments.

You'll work with founders and leadership to extend this foundation into B2C at the intersection of AI, Talent Intelligence, CareerTech, professional technology, and future of work.

The Vision: AI Career Intelligence

We are building an AI-native Career Intelligence platform for technology professionals combining professional intelligence, market intelligence, AI-powered recommendations, personalized insights, and intelligent workflows to help professionals understand, manage, and advance their careers.

Rather than another resume tool, job portal, or career application, the goal is a new intelligence layer around the professional and their career journey.

It will leverage Talent Intelligence + AI + Semantic Intelligence + Matching + Evaluation + Agentic Workflows + Technology-Market Intelligence for new AI-powered professional experiences.

This is a large, global AI/Talent/CareerTech/Future of Work opportunity; the roadmap will evolve through customer discovery, experimentation, and technology innovation.

The CTO will define the platform, intelligence architecture, technology extension, and global scaling strategy.

What You'll Own

1. Extend the Existing AI Foundation

Evolve the AI-Native Talent Engine, Talent Intelligence platform, matching/evaluation systems, Agentic AI workflows, semantic intelligence, and data/intelligence infrastructure for the B2C Career Intelligence opportunity.

2. Define Technology Vision

Define the long-term technology architecture and engineering strategy.

3. Architect the Intelligence Layer

Design architecture supporting professional intelligence, market intelligence, recommendations, personalization, and AI-powered workflows.

4. Lead AI & LLM Strategy

Determine how to use LLMs, AI agents, RAG, semantic search, recommendation systems, machine learning, knowledge graphs, structured intelligence, and workflow automation for differentiated product experiences.

5. Build the Product

Work with founders/product leadership to turn the vision into production, deciding what to build, reuse, redesign, automate, where AI belongs, and how intelligence is generated/evaluated.

6. Build Scalable Architecture

Design a scalable, secure, cloud-native platform for a growing global user base.

7. Build AI Evaluation & Quality Systems

Establish rigorous evaluation of AI quality, recommendations, matching, ranking, personalization, reliability, accuracy, agent performance, and user outcomes.

8. Lead Engineering

Initially this is a hands-on builder role, contributing across architecture, critical systems, AI infrastructure, and product engineering. As the platform scales, build and lead the engineering and AI organization.

9. Build Data & Intelligence Platform

Extend existing intelligence infrastructure for the B2C platform and growing users.

10. Shape Product & Business Strategy

Work with founders on product strategy, technology roadmap, AI strategy, data strategy, differentiation, monetization, partnerships, scaling, and global expansion.

What We're Looking For

We value capability, ownership, technical depth, product thinking, and execution over titles or years of experience.

You may be a strong fit with:

• Experience building/scaling AI, SaaS, or consumer technology products
• Strong software architecture skills
• Deep understanding of modern AI ecosystems and LLMs
• Experience with AI agents or intelligent automation
• Scalable cloud-native architecture experience
• Strong distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, and modern engineering knowledge
• Experience with search, recommendation, matching, personalization, or decision systems
• Strong product thinking and a hands-on approach
• Experience building and leading engineering teams
• Ability to work directly with founders
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Particularly valuable: Consumer AI, CareerTech, HRTech, Talent Intelligence, EdTech, Market Intelligence, Recommendation Systems, Search, Knowledge Graphs, Agentic AI, LLM applications, Personalization, Marketplace platforms, and Professional networks.

Technology Stack

AI/LLMs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, open-source models, LLM orchestration, AI agents, RAG, AI evaluation, structured outputs.

Intelligence/Data: Semantic search, embeddings, vector databases, knowledge graphs, recommendation/ranking, entity resolution, data pipelines.

Engineering: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis.

Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture.
