Overview
The Director of IT will provide strategic and operational leadership for the complete technology environment supporting two manufacturing facilities in Calabarzon, covering IT infrastructure, network services, manufacturing applications, Warehouse systems, MES, and OT environments.
As the senior technology leader across both sites, the Director will work closely with the General Manager and key business stakeholders to understand operational requirements, translate business challenges into technology solutions, and ensure local IT priorities remain aligned with corporate IT strategy, architecture, governance, and standards. The role has overall accountability for the availability, performance, security, and continuity of technology services across both facilities while partnering with corporate IT teams on enterprise applications, infrastructure improvements, and long-term technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume overall ownership of the IT environment across the Cavite and Laguna manufacturing facilities, encompassing infrastructure, IT operations, business applications, network services, and OT systems.
- Act as the senior IT representative and strategic technology advisor to the General Manager and site leadership, identifying business requirements and translating them into actionable IT initiatives.
- Partner with corporate IT teams to influence and contribute to development roadmaps for MES, ERP, and other enterprise platforms based on site-level business and manufacturing requirements.
- Ensure site-level IT operations and initiatives consistently comply with corporate IT strategy, architecture, governance, security, and technology standards.
- Lead, manage, and develop the site IT organization, including workforce planning, staffing, performance management, succession planning, and technical capability development.
- Maintain reliable and continuous support for factory-critical platforms and technologies, including MES, SCADA, ERP, Warehouse systems, and OT infrastructure.
- Coordinate with corporate IT and relevant technical teams on system enhancements, integrations, escalations, troubleshooting, and resolution of critical technology issues.
- Direct local IT service delivery and manage external technology vendors and service providers, ensuring projects and services meet agreed scope, timelines, budgets, quality, and security requirements.
- Establish and enforce effective IT change management practices, including appropriate planning, risk assessment, approvals, and execution of changes within production environments to minimize operational disruption.
- Manage site IT financial planning, budgets, procurement activities, technology contracts, and the complete lifecycle of IT assets supporting both office and manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for critical IT services, ensuring both sites are prepared to respond to power outages, network failures, system interruptions, and other operational disruptions.
- Establish and monitor IT performance indicators covering system availability, service levels, incident response, project execution, and operational effectiveness.
- Use operational data, incident trends, stakeholder feedback, and enterprise KPIs to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and continuously enhance IT service delivery and factory operations.
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity requirements, identity and access management controls, endpoint security, and other technology governance requirements in collaboration with corporate IT.
- Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits, including SOX compliance requirements, while coordinating with EHS and Quality teams to ensure technology operations support applicable safety and environmental standards.
- Provide IT leadership for major site initiatives, including facility expansions, new production lines, site relocations, and mergers and acquisitions, ensuring technology deployment supports business objectives and operational excellence.
- Promote a data-driven approach to IT leadership by leveraging service metrics, operational trends, incident analysis, and business performance indicators to support decisions and drive measurable improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related/equivalent field is required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive IT experience, including approximately 3–5 years in an IT leadership or management capacity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage effectively from the production floor through executive leadership. English is required; Tagalog is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated IT leadership experience within manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, or comparable production environments.
- Hands-on understanding and leadership experience supporting manufacturing technologies, particularly MES, SCADA, Warehouse systems, and OT infrastructure.
- Proven ability to collaborate with corporate IT organizations to implement enterprise standards, strengthen governance, and maintain alignment between site and corporate technology strategies.
- Working knowledge of enterprise and campus networking and security technologies, including:
- Cisco switching and Wi-Fi
- Cisco ASA/Firepower
- SD-WAN
- NAC / 802.1X
- Cisco ISE
- SolarWinds monitoring
- Strong understanding and application of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices across Incident, Request, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management.
- Demonstrated experience with Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and structured change planning within production environments.
- Proven capability in vendor management, budget ownership, and project management, with a track record of delivering measurable operational outcomes.
- Willingness and availability to support after-hours and weekend maintenance windows when required.
- Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, endpoint management, and enterprise technology operations.
- ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with MES/test stations and effective collaboration between IT and OT teams in high-mix, high-throughput manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or Industry 4.0 programs and initiatives is an advantage.
