Executive Opportunity

A leading Life & Annuity insurance organization is seeking an accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead enterprise technology strategy, modernization, and innovation initiatives. Reporting directly to the CIO, this executive will play a critical role in transforming core insurance technology platforms, advancing cloud and AI capabilities, and driving modern engineering practices that support business growth and operational excellence.

This highly visible leadership role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology strategy, accelerate AI-driven transformation, and help shape the future of a growing insurance organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead modernization initiatives across core insurance platforms, including:
  • Policy Administration
  • Underwriting
  • Claims
  • Actuarial Systems
  • Investment Platforms
  • Digital Customer Platforms
  • Define and execute enterprise technology, architecture, cloud, and AI strategies.
  • Champion Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering methodologies.
  • Align technology investments with business objectives and customer outcomes.
  • Optimize operating models across internal teams and global vendor partners.
  • Strengthen enterprise governance, architecture, engineering, and delivery frameworks.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing technology organizations and future leaders.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on enterprise transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 20+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 10+ years of executive technology leadership experience within the Life & Annuity insurance industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Life & Annuity IT experience required.
  • Deep expertise supporting:
  • Policy Administration
  • Underwriting
  • Claims
  • Actuarial Platforms
  • Investment Systems
  • CRM & Workflow Technologies
  • Digital Platforms
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise modernization, cloud transformation, and AI initiatives.
  • Experience managing large-scale outsourced and multi-vendor global delivery environments.
  • Strong financial management, vendor management, and executive stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational change management skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • MBA or Master's degree required.
