PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining, maintaining and governing the enterprise architecture standards that enable PriceSmart's technology strategy. This role partners across Product Engineering, Infrastructure & Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, and Technology Business Operations to ensure technology solutions are scalable, secure, reusable and aligned with business priorities. The Enterprise Architect drives architecture governance, technology modernization and platform simplification while enabling consistent technology decisions across the enterprise.
SUCCESS MEASURES
- Enterprise Architecture standards and reference architectures published and adopted.
- Architecture Review Board established and integrated into delivery governance.
- Technology roadmaps aligned across all IT pillars.
- Application rationalization and technical debt reduction roadmap defined.
- Enterprise architecture repository maintained.
- Improved consistency of architecture decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Architecture
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards and reference architectures.
- Define current-state and target-state technology roadmaps.
- Maintain the enterprise capability and application landscape.
Architecture Governance
- Lead architecture reviews for strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
- Evaluate technology exceptions and architectural risks.
Technology Strategy & Modernization
- Drive application portfolio rationalization and platform standardization.
- Identify modernization opportunities and reduce technical debt.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption.
Business Partnership
- Partner with Product Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data & AI and Technology Business Operations.
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams.
- Promote reusable integration patterns and shared technology capabilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
- TOGAF certification preferred.
- Cloud certification (Azure, AWS or GCP) preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience.
- 5+ years in Enterprise, Solution or Domain Architecture.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture standards, governance and technology roadmaps.
- Experience with cloud platforms, application modernization and systems integration.
- Experience in large, multi-country organizations (retail experience preferred.)
