Within 13 months of founding, this company reached a $2B valuation and raised $286M in total funding. Its B2B customer-service AI agent platform is already running inside enterprises across 30+ countries.

The client is now opening the Japan market and wants the first person to build it from zero. Working directly with C-level leadership at the European HQ, you'll design and stand up an entire country's business from the ground up: the closest thing to founding, with a leadership mandate to match. The CTO personally solves the most critical problems facing customers and the product.

What You'll Do

- Lead the technical side of sales: join early conversations, run demos, and steer architecture and security discussions.

- Serve as hands-on engineering lead, shipping code, building integrations, and setting the quality bar.

- Build and lead a strong technical team across engineering, integration, and pre-sales, laying the technical foundation of the Japan entity yourself.

- Own customer integrations end to end, from scoping to AI agent deployment, ensuring production accuracy.

- Collect customer feedback, localize the product, and represent regional needs directly to the global Product team.

- Act as the local technical point of contact, building partnerships and handling escalations.

Who You Are

- 7-8+ years of hands-on software engineering: you've built things that actually shipped.

- A proven record in pre-sales, solution architecture, or complex technical implementations.

- A customer-facing background (Field CTO, Solutions Architect, Deployed Engineer): fluent in both tech and business.

- Strong leadership DNA, ideally at Director, VP, or Founder level.

- Excellent English, plus fluency in Japanese, to lead technical and business discussions with multinational clients.

- At home in a zero-to-one environment: building the plan, the team, and the system from scratch.
