As a Product Portfolio Operations Manager in the IP-DSS Payments & Data organization, you are a core member of the cross-product/services team responsible for establishing the operating structures, portfolio discipline, and connectivity mechanisms that improve coordination, sequencing, and execution across the product space.
Job Responsibilities
- Drives a cohesive portfolio operating rhythm across IDP and Payments through integrated planning, reporting, and executive communications aligned to business objectives.
- Implements cross-product connectivity mechanisms (cadences, artifacts, decision forums) that increase alignment, transparency, and decision velocity across stakeholders.
- Orchestrates portfolio-level prioritization, sequencing, and trade-off discussions by translating strategy into actionable roadmaps, capacity plans, and dependency views.
- Establishs governance-ready intake and tracking for controls, financials, resourcing, and capacity signals to support portfolio health and auditable execution.
- Leverages AI-enabled tools and practices to accelerate analysis, synthesize inputs, identify risks/dependencies, and streamline recurring operational workflows.
- Optimizes operational efficiency via maturity assessments, training, playbooks, and continuous improvement practices that scale across product teams.
- Monitors portfolio KPIs and operational metrics (e.g., throughput, predictability, capacity utilization, dependency aging, decision cycle time) and surface insights to leaders.
- Facilitates cross-functional risk and issue management, including proactive escalation paths, mitigation planning, and stakeholder alignment on actions and owners.
- Standardizes portfolio reporting and storytelling across tools and teams to produce consistent, decision-quality updates for executives and governance forums.
- Partners with Product, Technology, and Controls stakeholders to ensure portfolio practices support regulated, controls-heavy delivery expectations.
- Enables change adoption by coaching teams through ambiguity, reinforcing operating discipline, and ensuring continuity during shifting priorities and capacity constraints.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of experience (or equivalent expertise) in program/portfolio operations, program management, or performance optimization in complex organizations.
- Proven ability to design and implement operating models, portfolio cadences, and operational effectiveness initiatives across multiple products and teams.
- Experience applying strong working knowledge of the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies; remain effective in ambiguity, change, and competing priorities.
- Experience using AI-enabled approaches to improve planning, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making (e.g., synthesis, risk/dependency identification, workflow automation) with sound governance.
- Experience building executive-ready narratives and communications that translate complex portfolio signals into clear options, decisions, and actions.
- Experience delivering strong quantitative and analytical skills, including comfort defining and managing KPIs, operating metrics, and portfolio health indicators.
- Demonstrated proficiency with portfolio/program tooling and documentation practices (e.g., Jira/Confluence and/or equivalent platforms) to enable repeatable reporting.
- Experience operating with financial and capacity discipline, including basic portfolio financial tracking, resourcing views, and investment trade-off support.
- Experience collaborating effectively across Product, Technology, Operations, and Controls partners, influencing outcomes through structured facilitation and stakeholder management.
- Strong process orientation, attention to detail, and bias for action while maintaining high standards for operational quality and control readiness.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in Payments and/or Data Platforms, including work in regulated, controls-heavy environments.
- Lean Portfolio Management and/or Agile-at-scale practices (capacity planning, dependency management, prioritization, trade-offs).
- Portfolio analytics strength (advanced Excel plus BI tools such as Power BI/Tableau); SQL is a plus.
- Tooling fluency across Jira/Confluence and/or ADO/ServiceNow/Clarity/Aha!/Smartsheet, including standardization of reporting.
- Practical AI-enabled portfolio operations (automated reporting, risk/dependency insights, executive synthesis) with appropriate governance and controls.
