ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Front-End Engineer with a specialisation in consent management to own how our websites handle cookies, tracking, and user privacy. You will implement and maintain our consent management platform (CMP), ensure tags fire only with valid consent, and deliver clean, accessible front-end experiences on our AEM sites.

This role sits at the intersection of front-end engineering, web analytics/tag governance, and privacy compliance (GDPR, ePrivacy, and similar). You will work closely with AEM developers, marketing/analytics stakeholders, and legal/privacy teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and maintain the consent management platform (e.g., OneTrust, Cookiebot, or similar), including banner UX, preference centre, and geo-based rules.
• Integrate consent signals with the tag management layer (Adobe Launch/Tags, Google Tag Manager) so tags and pixels honour user consent.
• Build and maintain responsive, accessible front-end components and clientlibs within AEM (HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript ES6+).
• Implement consent-aware loading of analytics, marketing, and third-party scripts.
• Audit cookies and trackers, maintain the cookie inventory, and keep consent categories accurate.
• Collaborate with privacy/legal to translate compliance requirements (GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA) into technical implementation.
• Support the IAB TCF framework and consent APIs where applicable.
• Test and validate consent behaviour across browsers, regions, and devices with QA.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of front-end development experience with strong HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands-on experience implementing a consent management platform (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Usercentrics, or similar).
• Solid understanding of cookies, tracking technologies, and how tags/pixels load in the browser.
• Experience with a tag management system (Adobe Launch/Tags or Google Tag Manager).
• Understanding of privacy regulations (GDPR, ePrivacy/cookie law, CCPA) from an implementation standpoint.
• Strong grasp of web accessibility (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
• Comfortable with Git-based workflows and collaborating in an Agile team.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience building front-end within Adobe Experience Manager (clientlibs, HTL).
• Familiarity with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2) and Google Consent Mode.
• Knowledge of dataLayer design and analytics event tracking.
• Experience with server-side or edge consent enforcement.
• Awareness of performance implications of third-party scripts and how to mitigate them.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 90 DAYS)

• Map the current cookie and tag inventory and identify any consent gaps.
• Deliver a compliant, accessible consent banner and preference centre.
• Ensure all non-essential tags load only after valid consent, validated across key regions.
