Essential Job Functions
- Monitors 340B compliance for all aspects of the 340B Program and implements all applicable aspects of HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs guidance, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the day-to-day compliance review of clinic-administered medications in eligible locations, mixed-use/340B only areas managed by split-billing software, areas managed by manual methods, outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by an owned pharmacy, and/or outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by a contract 340B pharmacy.
- Conducts daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly audits of all 340B-eligible locations to verify adherence with the 340B Program guidelines and policies. Documents results as required per policy and procedure. Audits assess compliance with HRSA’s polices including but not limited to 340B eligibility, diversion, and GPO prohibition.
- Monitors utilization records and 340B purchasing accounts to ensure that software or tools are working properly and accurately, performing audits
- Evaluates patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified patients in hospital-based mixed-use as well as 340B only areas and clinics by reviewing patient medical records, insurance plans, and hospital status.
- Assists with 340B external audits as assigned
- Uploads data and monitors data upload process for software systems and tools daily. Downloads raw data and prepares data for upload into software systems as needed.
- Assists with creating, refining, and executing 340B audits as assigned
- Reports all findings and matters through appropriate channels as outlined in policy and procedure which include the 340B Program Manager and 340B Analyst for the respective covered entity.
- Assists 340B Program Manager and 340B Analyst with special projects as assigned
Preferred Education : 2 Year Degree in Business, Information Technology/Analytics, Pharmacy, or related field
Licensing/ Certification
Licensure/Certification Preferred : 340B University (Live / On Demand); National Pharmacy Technician License
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience with pharmacy 340B required or; 1-2 years – progressive hospital or healthcare system pharmacy or healthcare auditing or healthcare business experience preferred .
Other Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Healthcare system knowledge base/skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to quickly learn technical systems such as EMR systems, retail pharmacy systems, and/or 340B software systems
- Ability to work in a complex team environment and to collaborate with peers to complete required work
- Strong interest in pharmacy practice advancement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communication style that is open and fosters trust, credibility and understanding.
- Knowledge of hospital and/or retail pharmacy workflows and/or operations
- Previous drug purchasing and/or wholesaler experience
- Previous work and/or training in 340B
- Previous auditing experience
- Experience with working with EPIC EMR system(s)
- Knowledge of hospital billing practices and regulations
- Experience in Microsoft Access
