KPMG is currently seeking a Category Manager to join our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain global category strategies for Audio Visual, Unified Communications, collaboration technology, system integration, managed services, and support; analyze spend, supplier markets, technology trends, demand patterns, and TCO to identify sourcing opportunities, while continuously streamlining procurement processes, improving templates, and adopting automation/AI-enabled procurement technologies
- Lead end-to-end RFx events by acting as a trusted partner to IT, Digital Workplace, Real Estate, and operational teams; translate complex technical needs into clear commercial requirements, coordinate business intake, develop robust scope/evaluation criteria, align stakeholders, and documents award recommendations
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Finance, and business owners to draft, review, and negotiate highly structured supplier agreements, statements of work (SOWs), amendments, SLAs, KPIs, warranties, maintenance terms, renewal provisions, and termination rights
- Build comprehensive business cases and financial models (including ROI, NPV, TCO, and make-versus-buy scenarios) to guide executive decision-making; track, measure, and report on realized value, hard savings, cost avoidance, demand management, and overall category metrics to leadership
- Manage strategic supplier relationships across OEMs, integrators, resellers, and managed service providers; utilize structured Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), performance scorecards, service reviews, and formal issue escalation pathways to drive continuous supplier improvement, accountability, and collaborative innovation
- Ensure all sourcing decisions and contract executions strictly align with internal procurement policies, approval workflows, third-party risk management (TPRM) requirements, and information security/privacy expectations; promote and enforce the use of preferred suppliers to support scalable standardization and contract compliance
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum five years of recent, progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or vendor management; proven track record leading complex, end-to-end RFx events and high-value negotiations for technology, indirect spend, and professional services
- MBA or advanced degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, supply chain, finance, IT, or a related field; or certifications (CPSM, CPM, CSCP, ITIL, PMP) are highly preferred
- Strong familiarity with Audio Visual integrators, OEMs, resellers, managed service providers, and enterprise collaboration environments (such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or equivalent) including associated enterprise support models
- Practical knowledge of IT procurement, SaaS/software licensing, hardware lifecycle/refresh planning, service desk or managed services operating models, supplier risk management, and experience supporting cross-category coverage
- Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts, SOWs, amendments, SLAs, complex pricing models, warranties, implementation milestones, support obligations, and renewal/termination provisions
- Demonstrated ability to partner with technical and business teams to translate complex technical needs into commercial terms; strong analytical and financial skills, including spend analysis, TCO modeling, proposal evaluation, savings tracking, and utilizing sourcing/CLM/spend-analytics platforms; effective communication, collaboration, influencing, and project management skills
