Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive estimates and quotes, including scope review, take-offs, pricing, proposal development, estimate reviews, change orders, and project closeout support.
- Collaborate with pre-sales and field engineering teams to develop proposals that accurately reflect labor, materials, project scope, customer requirements, and implementation needs.
- Coordinate with Kidwell’s vendors and partners to identify, source, order, and track equipment and materials needed for successful low voltage and phone system project installations.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for low voltage projects, including structured cabling, phone and voice systems, fiber optics, security, access control, nurse call, and audio-visual systems.
- Provide project coordination for assigned low voltage and phone system projects, including planning, scheduling, implementation coordination, resource coordination, execution, and follow-up.
- Support service contract renewals by preparing renewal information, coordinating required updates, and assisting with customer follow-up as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, internal project teams, and engineering teams.
- Track project budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and schedules to support on-time, on-budget project delivery.
- Recommend improvements to estimating and phone system project coordination processes to reduce discrepancies between estimated and actual project costs.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to understand complex projects, customer needs, scopes of work, requested materials, and required timelines. Able to interpret written scopes and designs, ask clarifying questions, and identify potential gaps or uncertainties.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 2+ years of low voltage experience and/or training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, with the ability and willingness to learn estimating-specific software and related programs.
- Strong technical aptitude and a desire to continue learning, with the ability to understand the estimating process and adapt as business needs evolve.
