Job Description

The Acquisition and Operations Analyst supports all activities related to the development, acquisition, planning, fielding, and operationalization of Space Access, Mobility, and Logistics (SAML) capabilities. The role provides technical integration, acquisition support, program baseline management, strategic planning, and interagency coordination assistance to ensure successful delivery and implementation of SAML concepts, systems and mission capabilities.

Acquisition Strategy & Execution

  • Support comprehensive management of SAML acquisition strategy development, execution frameworks, and technical baseline creation.
  • Assist with configuration control, documentation, and change management for P2D system development and integration activities.
  • Integrate and update program execution data to maintain mandated acquisition reports (APB, MAR, QPMR, and supplemental reports).

Policy, Fielding & Operations Support

  • Contribute to development and review of SAML-related policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Support fielding and deployment planning, including logistics coordination, readiness assessments, and operational processes required for SAML capability implementation.

Strategy, Concepts, Requirements & Resourcing

  • Assist in creation and refinement of SAML strategic concepts, CONOPS, and requirements documents.
  • Conduct analyses to identify capability gaps, risks, and resource needs for SAML development efforts.
  • Support resource planning and management processes, including tools used for POM development and funding justification.

Cross Agency Coordination

Coordinate with DoD, federal agencies, commercial partners, and mission stakeholders to support integrated SAML acquisition and operational activities.

Required Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience engaging DoD, federal, commercial, and Intelligence Community entities across multiple organizational echelons.
  • TS/SCI clearance and experience supporting classified programs or portfolios.
  • 7+ years of relevant operational, program management, engineering, or acquisition experience within DoD or national security space missions.
  • Experience applying or interpreting policy relevant to Space Programs.
  • Experience supporting acquisition planning, technical baseline development, risk assessments, and formal reporting requirements.
  • Experience with resource management, POM inputs, or capability requirements analysis.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple agencies, commands, or partners for space?related operations or acquisition activities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with NSSL, RSLP, LTRS, SAML programs, or related space access activities.
  • Experience applying or interpreting policy relevant to Space Mobility and Logistics, specifically as it relates to emerging capabilities
  • Experience with launch or range?related operations or operational logistics planning in support of CCMD CONPLAN development and execution.
  • Experience supporting congressional reporting requirements, requests for information, or advocacy for space programs.
  • Experience contributing to new program structures or funding lines for emerging space capabilities.
  • Established network within the National Security Space enterprise or the Space Access, Mobility, and Logistics enterprise.
