Project Billing Analyst

At Rauhorn Electric, we’re Powered by People. As we continue to grow across Michigan, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Project Billing Analyst to support the financial success of our projects through accurate billing, project accounting support, and collaboration with operations teams.


This role is ideal for someone with experience in construction billing, project accounting, accounts receivable, or job cost analysis who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and process monthly pay applications, progress billings, and invoices based on contract requirements and project completion percentages
  • Support project accounting functions including billing analysis, job cost review, and financial reporting
  • Reconcile job costs and identify billing variances or discrepancies impacting project financials
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection follow-up and aging audits
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure billing accuracy, approved change orders, and proper documentation
  • Track financial performance across assigned projects and communicate risks or concerns proactively
  • Assist with monthly accruals, reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Participate in project cost review and progress meetings with operations teams


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in construction billing, project accounting, accounts receivable, or related financial operations preferred
  • Experience with progress billing, pay applications, retention, and contract billing processes
  • Understanding of construction industry financial workflows and job costing preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, spreadsheets, and data analysis
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Union construction industry experience is a plus
