Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyze production costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and variances against standard costs.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs related to production performance.
- Conduct variance analysis (price, usage, volume, and efficiency) and provide clear explanations to management.
- Support the development of annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts for production departments.
- Monitor actual results against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Assist in long-range planning and capacity analysis.
- Identify cost drivers and recommend opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
- Partner with Production and Operations teams to improve cost visibility and financial discipline.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing financial impact assessments.
- Maintain and validate production-related financial data in ERP and reporting systems.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support production planning, make/buy decisions, and capital investments.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams on financial issues.
- Support month-end close activities related to production accounting and inventory.
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations for production-related financial data.
- Analyze data to identify potential trends, inconsistencies, and outliers; help resolve issues and support decisions.
- Engage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Participate in 5S workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and typically 2-6 years of previous work experience in a Financial Analyst capacity or like position. Production, manufacturing, or operations-focused environment experience preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Costpoint) preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Solid experience in interpreting and analyzing complex datasets that help frame thoughts and outcomes for senior members of the team.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and production metrics.
- Attention to detail and accuracy. Analyze data to identify potential trends, inconsistencies, and outliers; help resolve issues and support decisions.

- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with minimal guidance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
