Location: Hybrid – Lower Michigan Service Centers Jackson, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Royal Oak, Livonia, Saginaw, Bay City
Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday onsite; Wednesday & Friday remote
Duration: Until Dec 2027 (with a possibility of extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to support sourcing and contracting activities across multiple business functions, including Electric, Gas, Generation, IT, and Corporate Services. This role will support the organization’s growing business needs, including increased demand from utility operations, data centers, and other major projects.
The successful candidate will have experience with sourcing, contract administration, negotiations, RFP/RFI processes, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage sourcing activities across Electric, Gas, Generation, IT, and Corporate business units.
- Develop and manage sourcing strategies based on business requirements.
- Support RFP, RFI, and competitive bidding processes.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with contractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of contract structures, terms, and conditions.
- Coordinate contract routing for required business approvals and signatures.
- Work with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage procurement and sourcing activities.
- Ensure sourcing activities follow established policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support multiple projects and business needs in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of sourcing/procurement experience.
- Experience with contracting and contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of contract structures and working with contractors/vendors.
- Experience managing RFPs, RFIs, and sourcing events.
- Experience routing contracts/documents for approvals and signatures.
- Experience working with an ERP system, such as SAP or a similar platform.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the utilities, energy, electric, gas, or power generation industry.
- Experience supporting large infrastructure, data center, or capital projects.
- Professional certification in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience working with multiple business units and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented sourcing professional with strong contracting and negotiation experience who can effectively manage sourcing activities from RFP/RFI through contract execution and approval. Utility experience is a plus, but candidates from other industries with strong sourcing and contracting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
