We're working with an innovative technology company seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimise high-performance data processing systems in a production-focused environment.
This role is centred on software engineering rather than modelling, with a strong emphasis on clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and scalable data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-grade Python applications.
• Build high-throughput data processing pipelines handling large datasets on local server infrastructure.
• Design and implement robust multithreaded and multiprocessing solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code within a TDD environment.
• Optimise performance across CPU, memory, and I/O intensive workloads.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Expert knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and concurrency.
• Proven track record working in a Test-Driven Development environment.
• Experience building scalable, production-focused systems.
• Strong understanding of software performance optimisation and clean code principles.
• Experience working with big data and high-volume processing on localised infrastructure.

Desirable

• Experience with C++ or Rust.
• Distributed systems or parallel processing experience.
• Background in scientific, engineering, or industrial software environments.
