Construction Estimator

Our client, a Long-Island based GC, is seeking an Estimator to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and/or multifamily construction projects
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals
• Develop scopes of work for subcontractor bidding and procurement
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Executives, and field teams during preconstruction
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating tools
• Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and potential savings strategies
• Assist in preparing budgets, GMPs, and bid proposals for submission to clients
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies
• Conduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and constraints
• Support negotiations with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing
• Ensure all estimates align with project schedules and logistics
• Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings with project teams

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
• Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple bids simultaneously
