State Budget Analyst

We are seeking a Budget Analyst to join our partner’s Reconciliation and Budgeting/Operations team. This role is essential to supporting key financial operations and alleviating workload from senior budget analysts .

Major Duties

• Collect, compile, and enter financial and operational data into CAPPS, USAS, and related systems.
• Support budgeting and reconciliation activities alongside senior analysts.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly budget reports and financial analyses.
• Maintain consistent and timely reconciliation processes.
• Collaborate across teams to support financial operations and special projects.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management .
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply relevant financial policies .
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office .
• Experience with Texas state financial systems such as CAPPS , USAS , SharePoint , or Tableau .
• Bachelor’s degree in A ccounting , Business Administration, Finance, or related field (desirable) .
• Excellent organizational and communication skills .
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information professionally .
• Interest in long-term employment within state government .
• Valid driver’s license .
• Must pass a state background check to be eligible for hire .

• Length of Engagement: ASAP - 8/31/2027 (Temporary to Permanent)
• Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm .
