Summary Of Position

This Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst role is an integral part of the planning and analysis function. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, this role supports financial insights used to forecast revenues and expenses, analyze business performance, and maintains the reporting infrastructure and processes that underpin the team's budget and forecast cycles and stakeholder presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of FP&A tools and systems.
  • Build and maintain financial models and reporting tools to support meaningful insights and recommendations, helping to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze data and trends to help identify revenue opportunities and risks.
  • Support the preparation of presentations summarizing performance for leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and validate internal financial reports, primarily business-unit-level reporting.
  • Support various teams through the annual planning and budget process, coordinating timelines and inputs across stakeholders.
  • Track and reconcile approved budget changes and amounts, and reconcile forecast to budget by approved programs, headcounts, and associated spending, as well as various other types of expenses.
  • Partner directly with managers, directors, and business leaders, including VPs and members of the executive team, during forecasting and budgeting cycles to review department budgets and expense trends.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support and improve company planning processes and systems.
  • Support special projects as requested, such as ad hoc analysis and assistance with preparation of management materials

Functional Variations

Retail Products – Sales Team Business Partner:

  • Support financial models to evaluate the impact of sales strategies and promotions.
  • Partner with Sales and Demand Planning teams to improve demand forecasting and inventory management.
  • Assist contract negotiations by providing financial analysis and scenario planning for pricing, terms, and profitability.
  • Monitor and assess channel inventory levels at retailers to ensure optimal stock availability.

Retail Products – Product Team Business Partner

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to category teams on product performance across the full lifecycle: launch, sustaining, and end-of-life.
  • Support the development of financial models and business cases for new product launches, including investment requirements and expected payback.
  • Track profitability and margin trends by category, sub-category, or SKU to help identify products to fund, sustain, or wind down.
  • Support end-of-life and harvest planning, including discontinuation costs, inventory run-out, and replacement or cannibalization impacts.
  • Recommend adjustments to category or product-level investment based on lifecycle stage, performance metrics, and business priorities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of FP&A-related experience
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically with general guidance and direction
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving abilities, with a data-oriented and detail-focused mindset
  • Strong finance and accounting skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel required
  • Expertise in presentation tools such as PowerPoint

Preferred

  • Experience in CPG and corporate FP&A
  • Familiarity with ERP, financial planning systems, SQL or Python, and data visualization tools such as Oracle, Cube, or Tableau

Accountabilities

  • Supports Balance Scorecard goals for forecast accuracy, budget-cycle timeliness, and reporting quality.
  • Maintains accurate financial models and reporting tools used across the FP&A team.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.

Relationships

  • Reports to the VP of FP&A.
  • Partners with managers, directors, and business leaders, including VPs and members of the executive team, during forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Engages cross-functionally to support and improve company planning processes and systems.
  • For Retail Products variants, partners with Sales, Demand Planning, and Category/Product teams as applicable.
  • No direct reports (individual contributor role).
